This build will be frequently updated to reflect the best general-purpose, damage-leaning dragon caster setup, and as techniques and other gear/buffs/etc come to light as new from the Combat Overhaul. Additionally, technique kit conflicts may occur and will result in changes to this build if an item is no longer feasible to create.

Please understand in advance that you may want different builds for different situations. An undead/blight-centric build may be better when fighting epics in the Eastern Deadlands for example than a general-purpose build such as this, and may benefit from minor tweaks.

Additional information and alternative gear/techs will be incorporated with time.

Introduction: Who am I?

Hi there! My name is Lycheeberry Pavlova. Older players may know me as xWaterwingx SpiritStream. I started playing in 2011 and still continue to play to this day. I've created multiple ancients, GMDCs, various builds including niche and off-meta. Some of my favorite things to do are lairshaping and discovering new ways to solo or duo epic bosses. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what can be done in this game.

I created Lycheeberry in 2015 and was determined to make her a full-time Dragon Caster. During this time, it was exceptionally rare to see any spell-casting dragons; this was before all of the "new" dragon spells were added in 2017.

Alongside my old friends Saso and Pryzm, we created an interest, a catalyst, for future players to adopt a spell-casting build. Eventually, with further balance changes, melee/bruiser nerfs, new items and new spells, the general Dragon Caster build became the meta playstyle, but it certainly wasn't a slow adaptation as many players at this point were becoming well-acquainted with its growing popularity. With the above in mind, I seek to share everything I've learned about creating a satisfying build for a spell-casting playstyle.

Finally, with the combat overhaul now live, and Racktor's wonderful build creator alongside it, I would like to say I am so overjoyed to finally have an organized platform where I can share my knowledge with the community! =) It is my hope that you leave my build guides with even just one piece of new or helpful information. If you are a new player, this section is not particularly important to you, and you can continue on with the guide!
